Celebration of the Triumphant Return of the HK, China Delegation from the 2017 Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games cum Fitness First Hong Kong Named as Exclusive Official Fitness Partner of Sports Federation & Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China

Hong Kong, 17 October 2017 – Hong Kong, China Delegation returned from 2017 Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games (AIMAG) in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan last month, bringing home a haul of 35 medals, including 10 Gold, 11 Silver, 14 Bronze from 7 sports and ranked 10th in the Games’ medal tally.

 

VIPs attending the Welcome Home reception for our athletes included Mr. Timothy T.T. FOK, GBS, JP, President, of Sports Federation & Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China (SF&OC), Ms. Vivien C.C. LAU, BBS, JP, Chef de Mission of the Hong Kong, China Delegation to the AIMAG, Mr. Herman S. M. HU, SBS, JP, Deputy Chef de Mission of the Hong Kong, China Delegation to the AIMAG, Mr. Ronnie M.C. WONG, JP, Hon. Secretary General of SF&OC, Mr. YEUNG Tak-keung, JP, Commissioner for Sports, Home Affairs Bureau, Mr. Richard T. M. WONG, Assistant Director (Leisure Services) of Leisure and Cultural Services Department. They also presented souvenirs to the medallists as a commendation for their outstanding achievements in the Games.

 

At the same time, it was announced that Fitness First, one of the largest fitness club networks in Asia, will be the Exclusive Official Fitness Partner of SF&OC in the next three years. This partnership demonstrated Fitness First’s commitment to promote and strengthen Hong Kong sport culture by showing the importance of physical fitness for not only athletes but the whole Hong Kong community.

 

Through this first time partnership with SF&OC, Fitness First offered effective and comprehensive training for Hong Kong athletes sponsoring a total of HK$1 million in international memberships to support the athletes’ long-term training. Through this sponsorship, our athletes would be able to use all Fitness First centres in Hong Kong and over 300 fitness centres globally. With this extensive network and quality training environment as well as professional trainers, athletes are able to raise their performance level and achieve outstanding results in future Games.

Fitness First joined hands with the Federation to support athletes, highlighting its efforts in nurturing sports talent. New cooperative programs would be organized during this three-year partnership to dynamically promote sports development in Hong Kong.
